Njam Eatery is a cafe that effortlessly checks all the boxes. It could be your new favourite spot, complete with good coffee, delicious food, and mouthwatering gelato! On the corner of 3rd Ave and 6th St in Linden, this cafe exudes a genuine warmth that invites you in. Njam, pronounced “nyam,” is an Afrikaans word for “Yum”, which couldn’t be more fitting, because everything here is mouthwatering.

The initial allure that drew me to this cafe was the fun decor detailing. At the entrance there is a pillar collaged with a colourful collection of comic book pages. This quirky style adds a playful touch and creates such a refreshing atmosphere.

They are able to beautifully blend black and white tiles, exposed brick, a beautiful mural and an abundance of greenery perfectly positioned to soak up the warm sunlight, encouraging you to do the same as soon as you step inside - just soak it all up.

Another stand out for me was the easy and relaxed hospitality. There’s food and water displayed in the centre of the cafe, encouraging a culture of self-serve for some items. I was able to amble around the store freely, get a closer look at all its details and help myself to a glass of water, which added to the overall sense of comfort and freedom.

To complement their eats and treats, Njam proudly serves a Costa Rican coffee roasted by Morrico. This well-balanced brew was selected to perfectly pair with their menu, enhancing the flavour experience. Each coffee, each dish is thoughtfully crafted. I love how Njam takes what they offer very seriously; every order shows signs of good, hard work and dedication. For example, their gelato waffle cones are all made in-house - amazing!

Njam Eatery stands out to me as a place where every detail matters and quality is truly valued. All my cravings are certainly covered at Njam - go try to for yourself!
