The Barista League: Africa is coming to Johannesburg – for the very first time!
We’re on the hunt for passionate, skilled baristas who are ready to show off their talents, have a blast, and win some incredible prizes.
But this isn’t your typical barista competition. The Barista League is designed to test your real-world barista skills in a fun and creative way. No months of training. No complicated rules. No fancy gear required (although fun costumes are appreciated, see below!). Just bring your partner, your skills, and show up.
And the best part? It’s 100% free to enter.

Not competing? Not to worry. At The Barista League baristas don’t have to compete to get involved: aside from cheering on your favourite team, attendees can explore the Roasters Village or try out the competition coffee at The Barista League café, become a Mystery Judge, visit our partners and play games to win exciting prizes, grab a beer or a coffee cocktail and network, or simply chill out and enjoy the DJ.
