Strand, Western Cape
Ekhaya Coffee Roasters are based in Strand, on the False Bay coast of Cape Town. As a surfer, I was particularly excited to try this coffee, not only because it has a surfer on the coffee bag, but because they won "Best New Roastery" at the 2024 Coffee Magazine Awards!
This is their "Gnarly Blend". "Gnarly" in surfer parlance means something equivalent to dangerous/treacherous/radical depending on the context. I also noticed "aeropress" on the back of the packaging, which led me to do the only thing one can do in this situation - take the Gnarly Blend to the beach and make an aeropress with it!
The perfect place to brew the Gnarly Blend!
Inspired by Cape Town's waves, this coffee is a bold yet smooth blend which features Brazilian and Ugandan beans. It has a flavour profile of rich chocolate, bright raspberry, and a hint of hazelnut.
All you need is a flask of hot water, a grinder and an aeropress!
Perfect for espresso and filter, it's crafted for those who love flavourful, balanced coffee to power them through the day.
And...plunge!
You can buy this coffee along with 5 other amazing local roasters from the Discover Great Coffee Club page on our website
Cheers!
