Cafe Focus: Yoons Coffee launches in White River

Yoons, the local Lowveld gem in White River launched their brand new Yoons Coffee this last Sunday, 22 June. It was a full circle moment that took months and months of hard work. It is a brand-new collaboration between Yoons and Cast Iron Coffee Roastery.

Yoons is a Lowveld-established brand based in White River. It is owned and run by Unice-Anne, who's mom, Milly, and her family, with lots of history in the region, owned the iconic "Milly's" on the N4. Unice has expanded Yoons from the original shop at White River Crossings to the White River Country Club and recently to KMI Airport.

Unice partnered with Michael Irons from Cast Iron Coffee Roastery to start her coffee brand and get it established. This has includes everything from a custom coffee roast profile for her, training, equipment and retail coffee.

"The launch consisted of all things coffee and sweets to match! " said Michael. "It was a celebration of all the folks who have had a journey with Yoons and we commend her for going all out, especially considering the Lowveld, in terms of sourcing great coffee and equipment."

Unice has partnered with well known local coffee roaster Michael Irons from Cast Iron Coffee Roasters.

The Eatery and Club will have a full setup accompanied by La Marzocco Linea PBs and supporting equipment from Shawn at EC. The future plan is to install 4 of the same setups at KMI airport to provide the best experience to local and international travellers arriving in Nelspruit. "What we're loving about this launch is that the Lowveld is getting more variety in coffee offerings and shaping up to what one could expect in the larger cities" said Michael.

This launch showcases the increased demand by local consumers searching for better and better coffee offerings in the Lowveld.
