Many people in the coffee community know Lizaan Alberts from her incredible barista training career at CIRO and more recently from her sensory and experiential training role at Genio Roasters.
"Since the beginning of my career in coffee, the core focus was always the same - To strive for greatness" she says. "My passion is to educate, empower, inspire, enrich and to create opportunities in coffee."
Lizaan created these sensory experiences as part of her workshop for CCW 2021.

Lizaan is nominated in the "Excellence in Coffee Award" category for 2021 and anyone who attended her workshop at Creative Coffee Week in Durban or has been part of either her former CIRO team at barista competitions or part of the Deaf Barista competitions that she initiated a few years back along with Lani Snyman and Johnson Sehoro, will know that Lizaan strives for nothing short of excellence.
Sadly, Lizaan and her family are emigrating to Canada in early 2022, so we would like to take this opportunity to both celebrate the wonderful contribution she has made to our coffee community in SA and also to say "thank you" for a career that has empowered so many.
