You know, I must've walked past this hole-in-the-wall fixture of Bree street a hundred times, always with keen interest, but always on my way to somewhere else. So it was about darn time that I made a mission directly to this famous Cape Town bagel shop. And it was so well worth the intentional breakfast trip.
The team have refined and perfected this recipe over many years and much travel (and eating) research and I'm certainly no bagel connoisseur, but wow, if that wasn't the best bagel I've sunk my teeth into!!! Also the sriracha kick on that breakfast bagel is just right! And I love good balance in a bite, so the fact that the flavours were so beautifully weighted was a treat! The coffee was perfectly made and currently they're serving Cedar Coffee on bar. I sat snuggled in the back by the oven (Durban weakling when it comes to cold!) and had a lovely experience watching the ebb and flow of the morning regulars popping in for their fix.
