Coffee tasting should be fun! We love hearing descriptors for coffees from the professionals (there's a whole wheel for that), but we would encourage you to use your own flavour library to experience new coffees when you taste them for the first time!
Taste can transport you to specific memories and places! Last year at Creative Coffee Week, we wanted to encourage people to use South African flavour notes and so we created an SA Tasting wheel, full of flavours that are proudly South African. It was so much fun!
Here were some of the most common items that coffee people regularly identify:
- Lemon creams
- Milo
- Cherry Fizz Pop
- Wilsons Toffee
- Super M Strawberry
From Fizzers to wine gums to Tropika to Nuttikrust's, these are all flavours we have tasted in coffees through the years. What wild flavours have you tasted recently? Tell us and win!
We're giving away 2 tickets to the Durban leg of Creative Coffee Events, come join us and learn more about how coffee gets to your cup!
*Please note winners gain access to 30 July event in Umhlanga and Open Day at Humble Coffee. Does not include Origin Trip or Omakase Experience with the World Barista Champion
