In South Africa, the Cevze/Ibrik method of brewing coffee isn't very well known, but it is one of the oldest forms of brewing coffee. And we had the great pleasure of getting to know some of the All Stars of this very traditional method.
UAE's Jane Espante, became the 2026 Cezve/Ibrik World Champion at WOC Dubai.
They confirmed for us that, despite any politics around how these competitions come to be, the Champions are such wonderful humans. And to hear them talk about competition leaves us feeling inspired. If you are considering competing in any discipline or if you're wondering why people choose to do it, please watch this discussion.

The Cezve/Ibrik All Stars:
Ivan Bilousov (Ukraine, 3rd in 2024 World Championships ), Dimitris Karampas (Greece, 4th in 2023 World Championships), Cezara Cartes (Romania, runner up 2023 World Championships), Pierre de Chantérac (France, World Champion 2023) and Panel host, Iain Evans (South Africa, Coffee Magazine)
