NOW Coffee has taken over the space at the Morningside Tennis Club. The location was previously under the stewardship of Barn Owl, who has pivoted to lots of little takeaway pop ups around the city. While the space hasn’t changed drastically, the Now Team is definitely settling into this new addition to their growing number of cafes and they are excited!
We thoroughly enjoyed the coffees we were served, as we all as a delectable carrot-cheesecake, with candied carrot slices on top!
Always good to see two hoppers on bar - one with a single origin and one with the classic Just Now Blend. We had the single origin as a cortado and the blend as a flat white. If you’re into specialty, go for the single origin every time - it was outstanding, and the flat white was perfect to cater to the 'coffee' palate, slightly more developed and paired well with milk. Both were extremely well-prepared and served.
There were a handful of locals enjoying a Thursday mid-morning catch up and working while enjoying an iced beverage and a snack.
The café overlooks the Morningside tennis courts and Mitchell Park, so has a very spacious feel with lots of shady greenery and open areas, including a kiddies play area and a jungle gym. Great location for a little event!
Definitely worth a visit if you need a breath of fresh air, have kids in tow, if you like tennis and parks and of course, if you need good coffee and tasty treats.
