We are thrilled to feature Home of the Bean in our current edition, Issue 56, on shelves now.
The Home of the Bean story is one of the most inspirational ones in coffee you will ever hear. We are so proud of the work that the team have done and we were so lucky to be able to visit the new store at Victoria Yards and get a guided tour from Leroy Kgopa himself!
The Victoria Yards are a collection of small, independent businesses in the reclaimed Yards of Lorentzville, Johannesburg (Close to Ellis Park rugby ground, if you need a reference!) and what an inspirational collection of entrepreneurs and innovative spaces it is!
Home of the Bean VY has meant that the coffee roaster has been relocated to a cozy corner here, then the bar in the middle. Off to the side is the retail and display area and a cool little recess for meetings or a long visit. They also host regular yoga sessions here. With the new space they have also been able to expand their bakery offering.
This is the kind of spot you can spend a whole morning at and not feel rushed or bothered by anyone. The coffee is amazing, the service is incredible and if you really want, you can take home some freshly roaster beans.
