Similar in design to the V60 dripper. Both are typical conical V-shaped drippers with a single large hole. The major difference between the Kōno and V60 are the vertical ribs that guide the water through the ground coffee. Making it a faster flow than the V60. So expect your brew time to be 20 seconds faster than the V60. And you can expect a full bodied coffee with lots of sweetness.
The Kōno was my first V-shaped conical dripper. Therefore, it's very dear to me. I use it often for evening brews. Yes, I drink coffee at night and I don't have a problem with sleeping! This brewer performs well with all coffees.
Recipe
12.5gr coffee
Medium grind (similar to V60). 22 to 25 clicks on Commandante grinder
200ml water. Water temp 92°
Bloom 50ml with a time of 45 seconds
2nd pour till 100ml (only pouring on the edge of the coffee bed but not hitting the side of the dripper)
3rd pour (a slow centre pour) till 150ml.
4th pour (starting with your pour on the outside and slowly working your way to the centre pour) till 200ml.
Brew time: 2min - 2min 10seconds
Enjoy a perfect night cap. Sweet dreams.
