Name of Roastery:
Started Exhale Coffee roastery midway through the competition, (but I'm mostly just a homebrewer, though)
When I humbly entered a few months ago as a home-roaster, I couldn't have dreamed about where this would end up! I was just excited to compete with all the big names in the specialty coffee industry.
The competition played a big part in me finally starting Exhale Coffee Roastery.
Name of Head Roaster: Jacques Strydom
How did you get into coffee roasting?
I joined Vintage Coffee as a Green Bean a few years ago, and Kevin Clarke showed me the ropes.
What is your favourite coffee to roast currently?
Tanzania Mpalila Estate Washed - it is so fruity!
If you had to drink one coffee for the rest of your life, what would it be? (Origin, varietal, processing, roast profile)
Tough choice, but probably a washed Columbian, or a Burundi.
What has been your favourite moment in coffee?
The moment that got me most excited about coffee, was when I tasted Quaffee's Los Idalos Columbian. It blew my mind, and it was the first proper coffee I brewed myself.

Anything by Keaton Henson. A current favourite is Bygones.
If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
Definitely Butter Chicken
