Kleinsky's is a very popular stop for Seapoint locals for many reasons. Firstly, the bagels are insanely good, secondly the community vibe is real and thirdly the deli is full of delicious things to take home with you.

I was taken there by a local, and while coffee is usually my (and probably yours too) main priority, this was mid morning so I was hungry and had already had my first coffee of the day.  But I was assured it would be worth it for "the best bagel in Cape Town".  And like any traveler will tell you, trust the locals!

I had a very well-made flatwhite, with perfectly textured milk, served at immediate drinking temp.

The coffee was very well made, and slightly on the roasty side for me, but this is likely due to the demand of the local community, and with perfectly microtextured milk, was very enjoyable. The service was excellent and the coffee came quickly, followed by the food.

Followed by the "California" bagel - It was delicious...like having its namesake sushi the california-roll on a bagel.

I chose a "California" bagel, which is a play on the flavours and ingredients of a sushi califormia-roll  - fresh smoked salmon, avo, wasabi cream cheese and a side of fresh pickled ginger. Yum!  Kleinsky's has a real buzz about it, with an obviously familiar and friendly clientèle  - the staff were excellent and super friendly, plus you can bring your dogs inside!

Kleinsky's also has an amazing deli - lots of delicious pastries, breads and ready-to-eat items to take away with you!

The deli had some very good options, including bagels to go, lots of ready made items like salads, dips, sides plus the most incredible pastries and breads to take home!

The vibe is very social and friendly, and my favourite feature was the art wall - made of stunning local art that tells a visual story about the community.
