CoffeeBox in Pietermaritzburg has become the city’s go-to for a decent, quick and very satisfying coffee experience. The brain child of Con and Sue Malherbe, who have been serving Maritzburgers coffee for the past 20 years, via their Coffeeberry outlet in Cascades, have two CoffeeBoxes - the original in Athlone circle (remember this for your next road trip between Durbs and Joburg!) and the newer iteration at Maritzburg College.
We had a very good experience at the College store, we tried the drive through experience, and after a glance at the menu board, we were greeted, our order taken, and convinced to try the delicious fresh muffins, by the very congenial person behind the intercom!
On picking up our order, the team recognised us from Creative Coffee Week (yes, they made the effort to come all the way to Durban to further their coffee knowledge!) and the excitement got real in the ‘Box!
