We had the opportunity to engage with this inspiring coffee professional who is based in Canberra, Australia. Hany has created a line of beautiful coffee vessels inspired by the search to always be making better coffee and making coffee better.

Passion and sustainability are fostered in the lush landscape of Matagalpa, Nicaragua by the Bendana family. Across the coffee growing world there are stories of concerns for sustainability and farmers that are leaving coffee growing behind due to fluctuations in prices and rising production costs. The need for established coffee farms is necessary for a successful value chain and in this edition we highlight a family with 80 years experience in coffee growing and a hunger to continue this tradition many years into the future.

Trends & Research: What Customers Want

The eternal quest for cafe owners making their way through a tricky economic landscape, what do customers want? Also interesting for customers to unpack why they make the choices they do. To start to answer this question, Salman Khan, a seasoned Barista, judge at national coffee competitions and culinary educator with a flair for food & drink anthropology embarked on extensive research. Khan and his team successfully collected over 1,000 responses to their survey across nine provinces making this one of the most comprehensive national-level studies undertaken recently.

Brew: Beauty in the Brews

Avid Home Brewer and aesthetically-minded, Abdullah Isaacs, takes us through a day in his coffee life and shares his go-to recipes for 4 different coffee brewers. Abdullah made a splash recently by brewing coffee at the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi during Ramadan and garnering over a million views!
