In case you missed it; this year’s Specialty Coffee Expo dates have been released and tickets are on sale via the website! (www.specialtycoffeeexpo.co.za)
This years show sees some exciting additions to the event program. There are 6 Coffee Farm Co-Op Managers from Ethiopia & Eswatini hosting cuppings. The Gauteng leg of the SCASA National Barista Champs is taking place and there is the La Marzocco Crush The Rush individual and teams Barista competition on 27 & 28 May.
Big news from the Roaster’s lineup is that Starbucks are standing up to be counted amongst the best by bringing their Reserve range of Specialty coffees to the show. If you’re a cynic, then be sure to pop in and attend their cupping and taste some of their Specialty coffees on offer.
The rest of the lineup include the likes of Father, Rosetta, Seam, Bluebird, Cedar, Bean There, Origin, Bruder, Gegrond, new comers - Culture Coffee & Airabica, and the legends themselves, Seattle Coffee Co, who are bringing us their range of 3rd Wave coffees.
There will also be some of SA’s finest Patisseries and some artisan Chocolatiers. This line up is being finalised and the names will be announced soon.
Last year the first Specialty Coffee Experience had their inaugural event and they are gearing up for the next edition in 2023, May 26-28th.
