Almost the same Block, but a whole new world for Humble Coffee!

The recipient of Coffee Magazine Award’s Cafe of the Year in 2023 and Winner of the A Shot in the Dark title in 2024, Humble Coffee has a brand new home!

Amy Gardiner and her all-female crew of 20 staff have opened a beautiful new, 100 seater café in Windermere Rd, leaving the original premises of Humble HQ around the corner in Churchill Road, this week.

The new space is a dream come true for Amy, growing her brand into a beautiful building, creating the customer experience she couldn't achieve at the original location. The new space encompasses the roastery, a bakery, a full kitchen, a dedicated retail section, the soon to be opened “Humble Hatch” exclusively for takeaways, the main café area (including booth seats in the window!), a front outside area, PLUS they're hard at work on an event space, outside area and playground for kids out the back door. Whew!

It’s a massive shift upwards and in the right direction, and the very experienced and dedicated team are growing into the challenge with aplomb, being full from Day One and even causing a few fender benders in the street, people are so excited!

Like all new projects, it will grow into itself and evolve as the team settle, and we have no doubt that this will become a destination store for anyone visiting Durban, and judging by the full-house at breakfast service, with every table jam-packed on its opening week and coffees and delicious food flying off the service bars, it is going to be a big hit!

The new Humble provides a much needed, upmarket, specialty coffee-grade café in Central Durban and its many loyal, and continually growing band of regulars, have already grooved into the new rhythm.

Well done Humble Hunnies! Onwards and upwards!
