Known for their deep commitment to artistry, Joon’s Art Bar has become a haven for those seeking inspiration not only through painting, but also through the music that fills their space.
As a coffee shop nomad, Joon’s is easily one of my favourite spots. Outside of their strong ability to foster connectedness, serve good coffee, and showcase art; a feature that consistently makes my experience there memorable is their music. I’m always amazed at their ability to create such a personalised feel in the music they play. Like the café itself - small, intimate, and cozy, Joon’s has managed to capture that same essence in their day-to-day playlists.
Curating their playlists, with a masterful touch is Roxie Le Roux (Joon’s manager), whose wide ranging musical taste weaves together an atmosphere that feels both spontaneous and soulful. Her process is to have no strict strategy and an openness to customer suggestions, Joon’s playlists are as diverse as the art hanging on their walls.
We’re now lucky enough to carry a piece of Joon’s musical essence with us, wherever we are. Generously put together on their behalf, it is a little piece of Joon’s, from them to us.
If, like me, you’re left wanting more after listening to this playlist, you will find it exciting to hear that music is a huge part of Joon’s identity. Whether it’s live music, comedy nights, or other chosen forms of creative expression, there's always something happening at this wonderful space.
So get some coffee going and let the tunes play.
