With a name like here. and a layout that is fairly non-traditional, you could be forgiven for thinking that this new cafe is a bit intimidating. But you'd be wrong in this assumption, because the warmth of Antony and the team guides you through an exceptional specialty coffee experience, where you will quickly feel right at home.
Up a sneaky passage way off Tyrwhitt Avenue, and up a winding stair case, you enter here. from the corner of an expansive room. It is light and bright and filled with comfy couches and well-dressed humans. The space seems to encourage low toned conversations and an excellent environment to get some work done or read a book (this is what I wish I had been doing rather than being on my laptop), kind of had a very trendy library vibe.
But the explosion of flavour and colour available behind the bar is really where the adventure begins!
We were treated to a Tasting Flight (and a sneaky sip of the Batch Brew - Kenya from Bluebird Coffee Roastery on the day!) of an espresso, a piccolo and a pourover. The espresso and the piccolo were brewed with the lovely Coast Rican roasted by Father Coffee and it was one of the best espressos I have had in quite some time. It was also delightful to taste how the flavours changed when cut with a little bit of milk.
